The design for this all-precast, four-level, 3,500-car facility was driven by the vast size of the construction, with the construction manager early in the process securing a commitment for the precast production capacity needed to meet the schedule. Working from schematic drawings, the precaster prepared a Guaranteed Maximum Price proposal and schedule and then worked to refine the design and help create a final project scope of work. In all, 2,231 pieces of precast and 821,154 square feet of double tees were used in the project.
