Project Scope
Structural Precast Elements:
• 512 pieces of Stadia Seating Ells
• 26 pieces of Rectangular Strut Beams
• 98 pieces of Column/Support Arm Assembly
• 60 pieces of Raker Beams
• 16 pieces of Load Bearing Spandrels
Approximately half of the 40,000-seat structure is comprised of structured seating utilizing a precast structural framing system totaling 97,600 SF. The lower bowl portion of the facility is below grade. The layout and design for the structure will allow expansion of another 20,000 seats in the future.
Unique Features of Project
The complex geometry of the support arms and raker beams which support the spectator seating gives the structure a very elegant yet simple appearance.
The incline raker beams are in excess of 90’ long and 65 tons, which presents a manufacturing, transportation and erecting challenge.
The “Y” shaped support arms are required to be manufactured in two pieces and assembled in the field prior to installation.
Site restrictions due to soil conditions and the subterranean cast in place structure below a portion of the structured seating also presents a challenge for crane proximity and weight restrictions.
